Job summary

A leading aviation research firm in Calgary, Alberta is looking for a candidate to research and analyze global aviation markets, particularly regarding aerial firefighting and emergency response. The role involves preparing detailed reports and collaborating with marketing and sales teams. A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, economics, or a related field, along with experience in market research and data analysis, is required. The position is contract-based for 6 months with a competitive hourly rate of up to $80.

Key Responsibilities

Research and analyze global and regional environments and markets for our aircraft, with a focus on aerial firefighting, emergency response, and special mission operations.

  • Costs and impacts of wildfires (economic, environmental, and social)
  • Cost avoidance and operation benefits enabled by aerial firefighting aircraft
  • Comparative capability and advantages of DHC aircraft
  • Current environment, operations in the environments DHC aircraft operate.
  • Develop data driven insights that clearly demonstrate the value proposition of DHC aircraft to a variety of audiences
  • Prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and visual data for use by marketing, sales and leadership teams
  • Monitor trends, competitor offerings, government policies, and funding program related to firefighting and special mission aviation
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and technical teams to ensure research findings are accurate, relevant, and actionable
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a combination of experience in marketing, economics, data analysis, aviation management or related field
  • Experience in market research, data analysis, or strategic research (aviation, aerospace, or public-sector experience is an asset)
  • Strong ability to analyze complex data and translate into clear, compelling insights
  • Experience researching government or public-sector markets is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with research tools, data sources, and presentation software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple research projects
Preferred Assets
  • Knowledge of aviation markets, aerial fighting, or emergency response operations
  • Familiarity with cost-benefit analysis, economic impact studies, or policy research
  • Experience working with international markets and public procurement processes

Salary Range: Up to $80/hr

Contract: 6 months
