Overview

Our client, located in the downtown core, is looking to hire a Manager of Regulatory Reporting. This role sits within a dynamic team responsible for a mix of regulatory reporting and project-based initiatives. The Manager will play a key role in supporting the delivery of regulatory projects, including those related to CDIC reporting, data and framework enhancements, and evolving reporting requirements. This position requires a strong balance of accounting acumen, regulatory knowledge, and data analysis skills to interpret changing regulations and translate them into accurate and efficient reporting outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Support a variety of regulatory and data-focused projects, with a strong emphasis on CDIC reporting and frameworks
  • Prepare, analyze, and review regulatory submissions in alignment with current guidelines and evolving standards
  • Partner with business, finance, and data teams to enhance reporting processes and ensure accuracy and consistency across deliverables
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based reporting templates for new regulatory reporting; oversee structural updates and data integrity checks
  • Perform business analysis to identify process improvement opportunities and implement changes aligned with best practices
  • Interpret complex regulatory requirements, ensuring financial and accounting implications are accurately reflected in reporting outputs
  • Participate in regulatory change initiatives, supporting documentation, testing, and implementation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the use of automation and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Python, macros) in reporting processes
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, governance standards, and audit expectations
Qualifications
  • CPA designation strongly preferred; alternatively, a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field with significant financial services experience
  • Experience in regulatory reporting, financial reporting, or data analysis within a large financial institution
  • Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and apply complex regulatory requirements
  • Strong technical proficiency in Excel (including complex formulas and data manipulation); familiarity with Power BI, Python, or automation tools considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing reporting requirements
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Self-starter who enjoys project work and thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment
