EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Manager (Dean) of Relational Studies Programs (Social Work)

Yellowquill University College is seeking a Manager for the Relational Studies Department who will ensure the incorporation of the vision, mission and philosophy of YQUC. The Manager is responsible for the oversight of the related programs: First Nation Child and Family Service Diploma, First Nation Addictions and Mental Health Diploma, Jordan’s Principle – Community Support Worker Diploma and the Bachelor of Relational Studies Degree Program. The Manager organizes and directs program activities, recruits and supervises coordinators and staff, maintains program standards and ensures accreditation requirements are met. The Manager ensures the curriculum and delivery are in line with traditional and cultural values of First Nation populations. The Dean reports to the Director of YQUC and ensures input from the Advisory Committee.

  • Leadership and management of program oversight, coordination and evaluation
  • Academic and program management: curriculum, accreditations, academic standards
  • Staff recruitment and development
  • Student Experience – ensure students are well served from recruitment to graduation
  • Community and stakeholder engagement – related fields
  • Budget and resource management
  • Advocacy and fundraising as required
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in areas related to programs or a Bachelor’s degree with significant related experience
  • Strong leadership qualities: management, mentoring, facilitating, decision‑making and delegation of responsibilities
  • Strong organizational skills, communication‑written, verbal and computer skills, time‑management and teamwork skills; possess initiative, motivation, creativity
  • Preference for people who possess extensive lived experience working with First Nation people’s knowledge, language, and cultural practices
  • Hold a valid Driver’s License and ability to travel when required
