Overview

A leader in the Maritime Forest Products Industry, the Doaktown Sawmill is currently seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in industrial technology or engineering, and/or a Red Seal certification in a mechanical or electrical trade.
  • 4–7 years of supervisory experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead a team. Experience in a production environment is preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong commitment to top performance in a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrated interest and ability to participate in additional training and take on progressively more responsible roles within the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and maintain plant systems and equipment, including mechanical and electrical maintenance operations.
  • Provide leadership, support, and direction to a maintenance team of approximately 20 employees.
  • Ensure maintenance work aligns with standards, specifications, and schedules, and that activities follow model maintenance processes.
  • Plan and organize tasks for all technicians and tradespeople prior to each shift, ensuring clear communication across all departments and shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain a preventive maintenance system to support smooth day-to-day operations and minimize impacts on production and overall sawmill performance.
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset within the team, focusing on productivity, quality, and safety. Support initiatives such as capital projects and shutdowns.
  • Provide regular coaching and training to maintain standards and enhance technical skills.
