Job summary

Dollco Print Solutions Group is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Ontario. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Ontario trade certificate, have at least three years of experience in a production or high-speed printing environment, and align with our core values of safety and integrity.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in a similar role; experience in a commercial printing or high-speed manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem identification, and resolution skills; knowledge of PLC, Electrical, and Mechanical Systems is a definite asset.

SUMMARY

We are hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to team safety and well-being, being respectful, and acting with integrity.We strive for excellence in everything we do!The ideal candidate will have a valid Ontario trade certificate, three years of experience in a similar role in a production or commercial printing environment, and will align with our core values and company culture.

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on equipment while providing assistance during on-call and overtime hours. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform the machining and fabricating of parts and actively participate in following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives to contribute to a healthy and safe work environment.

AS A MAINTENANCE MECHANIC, YOU WILL MAKE YOUR IMPACT BY:
  • Performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on facility and production equipment.
  • Actively participating in Health and Safety initiatives and in Dollco's Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Machining and fabricating replacement parts and components accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed maintenance records, logs, and paperwork.
  • Providing additional assistance during off hours (on-call and overtime) for breakdowns and rotating shifts.
  • Working collaboratively with other departments as a team to identify and resolve possible safety hazards in the facility.
  • Ensuring maintenance schedules for assigned equipment are communicated clearly and in a timely manner to Dollco team members.
  • Adhering to all relevant Environmental, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Quality, Security, and Company policies and procedures
YOU CAN EXCEL AS A MAINTENANCE MECHANIC IF YOU HAVE:
  • Completion of post-secondary education and/or equivalent in a related field.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem identification, and resolution skills. A strong knowledge of PLC, Electrical, and Mechanical Systems (considered a definite asset).
  • The ability to read blueprints, schematics, and complete required paperwork and material requisitioning accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and on-call as required.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a manufacturing environment on the production floor in steel-toe footwear.
