Job summary

Dollco Print Solutions Group is hiring a First Press Machine Operator to join our Web Press team in a lead role. You will oversee the press crew, ensure quality standards, and coordinate setup, inks, and plates to maximise efficiency.

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary education or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a multi-colour web press operator in a commercial print environment.
• Proven hands-on experience with Heat-set Web Offset ancillary equipment.
• Strong English communication skills (oral and written).
• A high level of attention to detail and the proven ability to work collaboratively as a team leader.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading the safe and efficient operation of the press machine while providing direction, leadership, and assistance to the press crew.
• Thoroughly reviewing job dockets to ensure all instructions, specifications, and quality requirements are clearly understood prior to press operation.
• Performing all required setups accurately and efficiently, coordinating crew members to install plates, load inks, verify web leads, and configure folders to optimise workflow and minimise setup time.
• Manufacturing web print products to the highest quality and efficiency standards.
• Completing all required documentation accurately and diligently for costing analysis, efficiency tracking, quality checks, maintenance logs, and production reporting.
• Liaising proactively with Print Managers and Supervisors to troubleshoot complex machinery or process issues to minimise production disruptions.
• Coordinating with downstream operations to ensure finished products are efficiently and timely transferred to the next station.
• Handling regular preventative maintenance for the press machine and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime.

SUMMARY

We are hiring a First Press Machine Operator, to join our Web Press team. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to team safety and well being, being respectful, and acting with integrity. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading press crews, operating multi-colour heat-set web offset presses and ancillary equipment, resolving complex machinery and process issues, and manufacturing web print products to the highest quality and efficiency standards, and will align with our core values and company culture.

AS A FIRST PRESS MACHINE OPERATOR, YOU WILL MAKE YOUR IMPACT BY:

Leading the safe and efficient operation of the press machine while providing direction, leadership, and assistance to the press crew.

Thoroughly reviewing job dockets to ensure all instructions, specifications, and quality requirements are clearly understood prior to press operation.

YOU CAN EXCEL AS A FIRST PRESS MACHINE OPERATOR IF YOU HAVE:

Completion of secondary education or equivalent.

Minimum of 10 years of experience as a multi-colour web press operator in a commercial print environment.

Proven hands-on experience with Heat-set Web Offset ancillary equipment.

Strong English communication skills (oral and written).

A high level of attention to detail and the proven ability to work collaboratively as a team leader.

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

The physical capability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and work in a fast-paced, high-noise manufacturing environment with strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

Compensation: Compensation will be discussed during the initial interview.

Schedule: You will be required to work 12-hour rotating shifts. The shifts rotate, 1 week of days, followed by 1 week of nights for 3 to 4 shifts a week as follows: Mon to Thurs, 6:00am - 6:00pm, Wed to Fri, 6:00pm - 6:00am, Mon to Tues, 6:00pm - 6:00am, Friday 6:00am - 6:00pm.
