Job summary

Dollco Print Solutions Group is hiring a Bindery Operator, Cutter/Stitcher in Ottawa, Ontario. This full-time role requires setting up and operating guillotine cutters, high-speed folders, and saddle-stitching equipment, with programming of cutter dimensions and stitchers.

  • Strong mechanical skills to set up folder plates/rollers, program paper cutters, and fine-tune stitching heads.
  • Excellent attention to detail on squareness, trim dimensions, stitch placement, and fold registration.
  • Clear communication to collaborate with team members during shift changes.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to excel in a high-speed production facility.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate precision guillotine paper cutters, high-speed folders, and saddle-stitching equipment according to project specifications.
  • Program cutter dimensions and adjust stitcher feeder pockets, caliper controls, wire stitch heads, and inline trimmers.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, including knife changes on cutters/trimmers and cleaning/lubricating folders and stitchers.
  • Inspect materials for defects, verify cutting squareness, fold registration, and wire stitch accuracy.
  • Accurately record production data, run quantities, waste, and job completion metrics.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols and keep work areas safe and debris-free.

SUMMARY

We are hiring a Bindery Operator, Cutter/Stitcher, to join our Bindery team. This role will be a full-time, permanent position working out of our production facility in Ottawa, Ontario. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to team safety and well being, being respectful, and acting with integrity.We strive for excellence in everything we do!The ideal candidate will have experience in set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of precision guillotine cutters, high-speed folders, and saddle-stitching equipment (including cutting programs, fold layouts, and wire-stitching), and will align with our core values and company culture.

AS A BINDERY OPERATOR, CUTTER/STITCHER, YOU WILL MAKE YOUR IMPACT BY:
  • Setting up and operating precision guillotine paper cutters, high-speed folders, and saddle-stitching equipment according to project specifications.
  • Programming cutter dimensions and adjusting stitcher feeder pockets, caliper controls, wire stitch heads, and inline trimmers.
  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance, including knife changes on cutters/trimmers as well as cleaning and lubricating folder and stitcher components.
  • Inspecting materials throughout production runs for defects, verifying cutting squareness, fold registration, and wire stitch accuracy.
  • Accurately recording production data, run quantities, waste, and job completion metrics on appropriate forms.
  • Adhering strictly to workplace health and safety protocols and keeping work areas safe and debris-free.
YOU CAN EXCEL AS ABINDERY OPERATOR, CUTTER/STITCHER,IF YOU HAVE:
