SUMMARY
We are hiring a Second Press Machine Operator to join our Web Press team. This role will be a full-time, permanent position working out of our production facility in Ottawa, Ontario. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to team safety and well being, being respectful, and acting with integrity.We strive for excellence in everything we do!The ideal candidate will assist in the safe and efficient operation of the press machine, contribute to issue resolution and equipment maintenance, and manufacture web print products to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
AS A SECOND PRESS MACHINE OPERATOR, YOU WILL MAKE YOUR IMPACT BY:
Reviewing job dockets thoroughly to ensure all instructions and specifications are clearly understood prior to operating the press machine.
Performing all required set-ups accurately and efficiently to ensure jobs are produced with the highest level of quality and efficiency.
Liaising effectively with Print Managers and Supervisors to troubleshoot issues while remaining cognizant of cutting and finishing requirements to optimize workflow.
Handling all required paperwork accurately, including quality checks and assurance tests, to maintain proper documentation.
Ensuring finished products are efficiently and timely transferred to the next station for further processing.
Performing regular preventative maintenance for the press machine and associated equipment to maintain optimal performance.
Following all Health and Safety guidelines and participating in Health and Safety initiatives.
YOU CAN EXCEL AS A SECOND PRESS MACHINE OPERATOR IF YOU HAVE:
Completion of secondary school education or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a multi-colour web press operator in a commercial print environment.
Direct experience with Heat-set Web Offset ancillary equipment. Proficient computer skills to enable efficient interaction with press control systems and data management (asset).
Strong English communication skills (oral & written) for clear collaboration with team members and supervisors.
High level of attention to detail and strong collaborative skills.
Solid problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
Capability to work in a fast-paced, noisy manufacturing environment with strict adherence to safety protocols for moving machinery.
Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
Compensation: Compensation will be discussed during the initial interview.
Schedule: You will be required to work 12-hour rotating shifts. The shifts rotate, 1 week of days, followed by 1 week of nights for 3 to 4 shifts a week as follows: Mon to Thurs, 6:00am - 6:00pm, Wed to Fri, 6:00pm - 6:00am, Mon to Tues, 6:00pm - 6:00am, Friday 6:00am - 6:00pm.
