Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and upkeep of our residence. You will manage equipment, furnishings, and surrounding areas to support a comfortable, safe environment for residents.

The role requires hands-on supervision, vendor coordination, and leadership of maintenance staff, with a focus on healthcare safety procedures. On-call hours and a valid driver's license are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum one to three years' experience in a supervisor role.
• Experience in building maintenance and systems; coordinate tasks with vendors and perform hands-on repairs.
• Trade certification or maintenance training preferred.
• Experience with carpentry, plumbing, painting, and equipment.
• Supervisory or leadership experience in maintenance or building operations.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills; able to plan and prioritize work.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Clear communicator with strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of safety procedures within healthcare an asset.
• Flexible for on-call and varied hours.
• Valid Driver's License, or reliable means of transportation.

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about maintaining safe, welcoming environments for seniors? Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license may be required
• Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing
• Must carry a company-issued phone and respond to emergency situations as needed
