Job summary

Chartwell is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep of a residence, including equipment, furnishings, and surrounding areas. The role ensures a safe, welcoming environment aligned with quality standards and brand values.

You will plan preventative maintenance, respond to repair needs, and coordinate with external service providers while leading maintenance staff and contributing to health and safety initiatives. Strong communication and hands-on skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum one to three years' experience in a supervisor role.
• Extensive experience in building maintenance and systems; coordinate tasks with vendors and perform hands-on repairs.
• Trade certification or maintenance training preferred.
• Experience with carpentry, plumbing, painting, and equipment preferred.
• Supervisory or leadership experience in maintenance or building operations.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills; able to plan and prioritize work.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Clear communicator with strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of safety procedures within healthcare an asset.

• Valid driver’s license may be required
• Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing
• Must carry a company‑issued phone and respond to emergency situations as needed
