Job summary

Ram Iron & Metal Inc. is seeking a dedicated General Labourer - Maintenance to safely operate forklifts and skid steers for material handling. You will support yard upkeep, perform minor repairs and painting, and assist with parts pick-ups and drop-offs in a fast-paced industrial setting.

The role requires physical stamina, outside work in various weather, and a focus on safety. Prior experience with scrap metal recycling is a plus, and training is provided for equipment.

Qualifications

• Prior forklift and skid-steer experience preferred.
• Handyman skills with troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors and in various weather.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to follow guidelines.
• Previous scrap metal recycling experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive, organize, stock, and maintain accountability of parts inventory for mechanics.
• Assist welders and mechanics with light repairs to support task completion.
• Conduct daily inspections on machinery and report issues to supervisor.
• Operate forklift or bobcat as needed; training provided if no prior experience.
• Assist with washing vehicles and equipment with a power washer.
• Perform general yard housekeeping, including waste and spent oils disposal.
• Paint bins, containers, or equipment for proper identification and aesthetics.
• Assist Parts Runner with pickups and drop-offs of commercial items and materials.
• Perform other duties as required.
