Job summary

Blackbird Security is hiring Loss Prevention Officers in London, Ontario to deter theft and protect clients and patrons. Work location is in person; you will blend in and monitor activities while delivering customer service.

The ideal candidate has an Ontario Security License, uses of force certification preferred, and retail security experience; strong communication skills and the ability to handle arrests and detentions.

Qualifications

• Ontario Security License is required
• Use of Force certification preferred
• Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifting
• Retail security experience in a store environment
• Strong written and spoken communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers.
• Wear plain clothes to work undercover, discreetly blending in with shoppers.
• Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage.
• Confront individuals you suspect of theft, who have unpaid merchandise.
• Escort trespassers out of the client premises.
• Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise.
• Complete required documentation for security incidents such as theft and violations.
• Escalate situation to law enforcement as required.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately in a timely manner.
