Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients and customers.
• Wear plain clothes to work undercover, blending in with shoppers.
• Patrol store aisles, monitor customers and surveillance footage.
• Confront individuals suspected of theft and recover unpaid merchandise.
• Escort trespassers out of client premises.
• Complete required documentation for security incidents.
• Escalate situations to law enforcement as needed.
• Respond to emergency situations promptly.

What you will do

• Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers.
• Wear plain clothes to work undercover, discreetly blending in with shoppers.
• Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage.
• Confront individuals you suspect of theft, who have unpaid merchandise.
• Escort trespassers out of the client premises.
• Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise
• Complete required documentation for security incidents such as theft and violations.
• Escalate situation to law enforcement as required.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately in a timely manner.

The Ideal Candidate

• A Valid Ontario Security License
• Use of Force certificate preferred/willing to get one
• Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifting
• Previous security experience in a retail environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
