Responsibilities

• Prevent shoplifting and provide customer service in a retail setting.
• Patrol store aisles and monitor customers and CCTV cameras.
• Confront individuals suspected of theft and escort trespassers off premises.
• Complete security incident documentation and reports.
• Escalate incidents to law enforcement when needed.
• Respond to emergencies in a timely and appropriate manner.

What You Will Do

• Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers.
• Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage.
• Confront individuals you suspect of theft, who have unpaid merchandise.
• Escort trespassers out of the client premises.
• Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise
• Complete required documentation for security incidents such as theft and violations.
• Escalate situation to law enforcement as required.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately in a timely manner.

The Ideal Candidate

• A Valid Alberta Security License is required
• Previous security experience in a retail environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, is required
• Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills
• Ability to work without close supervision
• A keen interest in asset protection and crime prevention
