Blackbird Security is seeking a Loss Prevention Officer in Hamilton, Ontario. Work in a retail environment handling undercover operations, monitoring, and preventing shoplifting while ensuring high-quality customer service.

The role requires a valid Ontario Security License, with a Use of Force certificate preferred. Prior retail security experience and strong communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security License required.
• Use of Force certification preferred.
• Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifting.
• Previous security experience in a retail environment.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers.
• Wear plain clothes to work undercover, discreetly blending in with shoppers.
• Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage.
• Confront individuals you suspect of theft, who have unpaid merchandise.
• Escort trespassers out of the client premises.
• Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise.
• Complete required documentation for security incidents such as theft and violations.
• Escalate situation to law enforcement as required.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately in a timely manner.

The Ideal Candidate
