Job summary

Optima Living in Calgary is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our compassionate care team. You will collaborate with the Director of Care and interdisciplinary staff to provide high-quality services and maintain a safe, respectful environment for residents in a senior living setting.

Responsibilities include direct nursing care, medication administration, care plan updates, and supporting family communication.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
• Maintain a current license to practice from the Alberta CRNA & CLHA boards.
• CPR and First Aid certification kept current.
• Ability to mentor Health Care Aides and other team members.
• Strong written and verbal communication with interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development of resident care plans under the Director of Care or designate.
• Provides direct nursing care including medications and treatments.
• Maintains accurate health records and documentation.
• Assists with move-ins/outs and end-of-life care with dignity and comfort.
• Communicates clearly with residents, families, and the team.
• Supports orientation and onboarding of new staff.
• Ensures infection control policies are followed and safety standards met.
