Job summary

Optima Living seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Alberta senior living team. You will report to the Director of Care and collaborate with physicians, RNs, and Health Care Aides to deliver high-quality resident care.

You will maintain accurate care records, support care plans, administer medications, and participate in team meetings while upholding safety, infection control, and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
• Maintains an active license to practice from the AB College of Registered Nurses (CRNA) & College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
• Active CPR and First Aid certification.
• Demonstrates the skills and attributes to guide Health Care Aides and other non-professional team members.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development of resident personal care or service plans under the direction of the Director of Care or designate.
• Maintains accurate records of resident conditions and health care requirements and other pertinent documentation.
• Provides direct nursing care including administration and/or distribution of medications, medical treatments and procedures, and resident education as needed.
• Communicates clearly and effectively with the interdisciplinary team, supervisor(s), doctors, residents and families.
• Assists in the orientation of new team members and supports ongoing education.
