Job summary

Optima Living in Vernon, BC, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our care team and work under the Director of Care to deliver high-quality, resident-centered nursing services.

You will administer medications, support care plans, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and Health Care Aides to ensure safety, dignity, and comfort for residents. The position emphasizes infection control and ongoing quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
• Current license to practice with BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Active CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience in residential care or mental health is an asset.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development of resident care plans under the Director of Care.
• Implements changes to resident care plans as needed.
• Maintains accurate resident health records and documentation.
• Provides direct nursing care and medications as required.
• Communicates effectively with the care team, residents and families.
• Assists physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures when requested.
• Directs and supports Health Care Aides in delivering high-quality care.
• Contributes to safety, infection control and quality improvement initiatives.
