Job summary

Optima Living in Canada seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver high-quality resident care. You will collaborate with the care team, administer medications, maintain records, and support admissions, discharges, and end-of-life care with dignity.

You will work under the Director of Care, adhere to safety and infection-control policies, mentor Health Care Aides, and participate in quality improvements to enhance resident well-being and independence.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
• Maintains a current license to practice with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
• CPR and First Aid certification maintained.
• Ability to guide and mentor Health Care Aides.
• Effective written and verbal communication with interdisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to person-centered care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development of resident care plans under Director of Care.
• Administers medications and supports treatments as directed.
• Maintains accurate health records and documentation.
• Supports move ins/outs, end-of-life and compassionate care with dignity.
• Communicates with residents, families and the care team clearly.
• Assists with examinations and clinical procedures as requested.
• Supervises Health Care Aides and orients new staff.
• Responds to emergencies and upholds infection control standards.
• Contributes to quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Ensures confidentiality of resident information.

Education

BCCNM license
