Job summary

A local educational board is looking for a dedicated Learning Coach for K-12 education with an emphasis on French as a Second Language. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, alongside necessary teaching qualifications. Responsibilities include supporting educators, facilitating professional learning, and planning assessments. This position is permanent and requires travel within specific regions. Qualifications

Learning Coach Position
K - 12 Learning Coach with FSL Focus (literacy and numeracy minor role)

Location: Board wide

Start date : January 5, 2026

Vacancy Details: 1.0 FTE (permanent position with an end date of June 25, 2026)

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ontario College of Teachers Accreditation
  • PR/JR/INT/SR Qualifications (minimum of two)
  • Hold, or be working towards a 3 part French Second Language Specialist Additional Qualificationsor FSL Honours Specialist
  • Five years certified teaching experience an asset
  • Must be a current permanent teacher with District School Board Ontario North East with a satisfactory TPA within the last 5 years
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License required, as travel is expected
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support educators in implementing the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) and Action-Oriented Tasks in Core French and French Immersion classrooms.
  • Co-plan and co-facilitate professional learning at the school and board level in support of CEFR principles and Action-Oriented approaches.
  • Plan and facilitate DELF (Diplome d'Etudes en Langue Francaise) testing in the spring.
  • Develop digital and print resources to support educators.
  • Embed technology using the TPACK framework, develop 21st-century skills, and support educators with the use of digital tools on iPad.
  • Regular travel is expected within the region of the coach and some travel across regions will be required. Technology will be used to minimize travel where possible.
  • Support Learning and Teaching Team with literacy and numeracy as required.
