Job summary

COFOMO, a leading Canadian consulting firm in Montreal, seeks a Senior AI Governance and Risk leader to guide client transformations. You will steer use-case prioritization, design intelligent agents, and oversee pilots across risk domains, collaborating with technology, risk, compliance, and business teams.

With 10+ years in financial services and a strong background in risk analytics, you will translate business needs into actionable use cases, maintain governance, and drive value realization

Qualifications

• Have more than ten (10) years of experience in financial services, risk management, analytics, data, artificial intelligence deployment, product management, technology implementation or consulting.
• Have real-world experience in developing, configuring, implementing, or supporting intelligent agents, co-pilots, automation solutions, or analytical tools.
• Experience in creating adoption materials, training guides, performance dashboards, and value realization metrics.
• Collaborate with technology, data, artificial intelligence, risk management, compliance, and business teams in a framed environment.
• Knowledge of risk management processes in the financial sector, including credit risk, portfolio tracking, operational risk, compliance, model risk, fraud or reporting (an asset).
• Proficiency in Canadian banking, trade finance or risk governance practices (an asset).
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data science, artificial intelligence, engineering, business administration, finance, risk management, or a related field.
• Possess a master's degree in a relevant field or a recognized certification in artificial intelligence, data, risk management, project management, product management or change management (an asset).
• Proficient in Microsoft Copilot, agent creation tools, low-code or no-code platforms, automation, knowledge management, or document intelligence solutions.
• Efficiently translate business needs into use cases, user stories, test plans, instructions, functional requirements and workbooks.
• Understand the principles of responsible artificial intelligence, data governance, privacy, information security, and change management in a regulated environment.
• Define mechanisms for control, approval, monitoring, human supervision, testing and measurement of the business value of artificial intelligence solutions.
• Demonstrate excellent collaboration, facilitation, written and verbal communication skills, as well as an ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
• This position requires fluency in French and English for daily tasks, understanding documentation, and professional communication with customers, suppliers, and colleagues across Canada. French and English language skills are essential, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI use-case identification and prioritization across risk domains.
• Analyze high-friction activities to define business problems, target users, success metrics, data needs and implementation requirements.
• Evaluate use cases based on business value, feasibility, associated risks, data availability, and speed of deployment.
• Design, configure, test and optimize intelligent agents, co-pilots, automation solutions, analytical tools, knowledge retrieval and document intelligence solutions.
• Define agent tasks, workflows, instructions, information sources, escalation mechanisms, expected outcomes, and human supervision requirements.
• Lead pilot projects aimed at analyzing credit files, monitoring portfolios, monitoring risk issues, preparing committee documents and producing management reports.
• Coordinate user testing and document feedback, flaws, barriers to adoption, test results, and opportunities for improvement.
• Determine required controls for approval, monitoring, privacy, security, data quality, model risk, explainability, and compliance.
• Develop checklists, operational procedures, implementation guides, user guides, demo, training and communication materials.
• Measure usage, efficiencies, quality improvements, adoption, and business value generated to recommend maintaining, enhancing, expanding, or integrating deployed solutions.
• Deliver a prioritized roadmap of use cases, validated prototypes, or ready-to-deploy solutions, and a hands-on approach to scaling solutions while ensuring proper governance.
