Job summary

A governmental organization in North Vancouver is seeking a skilled landscaping professional to plan and manage projects, interpret blueprints, and apply various lawn care treatments. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and several years of landscaping experience, as well as own safety equipment for outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • 3 years to less than 5 years of landscaping experience required.
  • Ability to manage landscaping projects effectively.
  • Knowledge of various treatment applications for landscaping.

Responsibilities Tasks
  • Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation
  • Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements
  • Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning
  • Manage landscaping projects
  • Estimate costs
  • Write specifications
  • Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and other lawn care products
  • Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions
  • Assess the health of lawns
  • Plan and co-ordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses and other purposes
  • Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens
