Job summary

ESS Canada is hiring for a General Help role in Smithers, BC. This position involves supporting daily operations with food preparation, meal service, dishwashing, and related duties at a remote camp setting.

The role requires a Food Handler Certificate, strong English communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Shift is 10 hours per day with a 14/7 rotation; travel is required with fly-in/fly-out arrangements.

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience in a restaurant, banquet or camp setting is an asset.
• You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage workload.
• Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Minor heavy lifting may be involved (up to 40 lb.)

Responsibilities

• Dispense food for next day of production and plate individual meals.

• Perform general cleaning duties; remove trash and garbage to designated areas.

• Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Ability to work in various workstations including meal distribution area (packaging).
• Willing to learn skid wrapping of finished product.
• Food preparation and cooking as needed.

• Shift: 10hr/Day
• Rotation: 14 Days on/ 7 Days off

The hourly wage for this position is $19.97. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
