Job summary

ESS Canada is seeking a camp Housekeeper to perform light cleaning and maintain a clean, orderly environment at a remote camp in Canada. The role includes duties such as cleaning washrooms, making beds, laundry support, and waste removal.

Requirements include previous housekeeping experience, good English, physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds, and the ability to follow instructions. The position features a 10-hour shift and a 21-days-on/7-days-off rotation with benefits after 3 months.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect washrooms, vents, windows, walls, doors and mirrors.
• Strip, wash and make beds; collect and fold linen.
• Damp mop floors and perform auto scrubbing as needed.
• Inspect lobbies, stairwells, elevators and mezzanines and clean as required.
• Vacuum carpeted areas and perform carpet extraction when needed.
• Remove all garbage from resident rooms and common areas.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident and staff information.
• Follow health and safety guidelines; report injuries to supervisor.
• Respond to emergency cleanups as required.
• Assist with additional janitorial tasks as needed.

Description

As a camp Housekeeper you will be responsible for performing light cleaning duties that maintain the establishment in a clean and orderly manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and disinfect areas and items such as washrooms, vents, interior windows, walls, glass, doors, and mirrors
• Strip, wash and make beds; collect and fold linen
• Damp mop hard floors and auto scrub as needed
• Check all primary areas, lobbies, stairwells, elevators/escalators, and mezzanines and clean as required
• Vacuum carpeted areas and complete carpet extraction as needed
• Remove all garbage from resident rooms and common areas
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident and personnel information
• Maintain a safe environment at all times (e.g. use of wet floor signs)
• Perform duties according to health and safety guidelines
• Report all injuries and hazards to the supervisor immediately
• Responding to emergency cleanups as required
• Additional Janitorial tasks may be required

Qualifications:

• Previous commercial housekeeping experience, preferably in a hotel or remote camp setting is an asset
• Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy workload.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job, including requirements to lift up to 20 pounds

The hourly wage for this position is $19.97.Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
