Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a General Help to support daily operations, including cleaning, food preparation, serving meals, and dishwashing. The role requires flexibility to work in various workstations and a commitment to food safety and quality.

The position offers overtime after 8 hours and benefits after 3 months, with a 10-hour shift and a 14/7 rotation. Strong English communication and physical ability are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Dispense food for the next day of production and plate meals.
• Maintain safety standards in all duties.
• Store food with proper dating and rotation.
• Perform general cleaning and dishwashing.
• Distribute supplies and equipment as required.
• Follow approved recipes and portion controls to ensure quality.
• Ensure sanitation and safety compliance.
• Work across multiple workstations, including packaging areas.
• Willing to learn skid-wrapping of finished product.
• Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed.

Job description

As General Help you will be responsible for supporting our daily operations with a wide range of tasks such as cleaning, food preparation, serving meals, and dishwashing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Dispense food for next day of production and plate individual meals.
• Conduct work in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Perform general cleaning duties; remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Dishwashing and other tasks as required.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Ability to work in various workstations including meal distribution area (packaging).
• Willing to learn skid wrapping of finished product.
• Food preparation and cooking as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous food service experience in a restaurant, banquet or camp setting is an asset.
• You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage workload.
• Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Minor heavy lifting may be involved (up to 40 lb.)

Position Requirements:

• Pass a Drug & Alcohol Test

• Rotation: 14 Days on/ 7 Days off
