Job summary

ESS Canada is seeking a Kitchen General Helper for a remote camp in Canada to prepare, present and serve meals, ensuring quality and presentation. You will dispense food for the next day, follow safety standards, and help with packaging and sanitation.

Responsibilities include maintaining storage, portion control, and assisting in cooking as needed. Shift is 10 hours per day, 20 days on and 10 days off, with benefits after 3 months.

Qualifications

  • Previous food service experience in a restaurant, banquet or remote camp setting is an asset.
  • A valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent is an asset.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage workload.
  • Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required.
  • Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Minor heavy lifting may be involved (up to 40 lb.)

  • Ability to work in various workstations including meal distribution area (packaging).
  • Willing to learn skid wrapping of finished product.
  • Food preparation and cooking as needed.

  • Pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Pass a Criminal Record Check
  • Shift: 10hr/Day
  • Rotation: 20 Days on/ 10 Days off
