Overview

Accounting Assistant :

Located in Sioux Lookout Ontario on the shores of beautiful Lake Superior Kuhkenah Network (K-Net) provides information and communication technologies (ICTs) telecommunication infrastructure and application support in First Nation communities across a vast remote region of north-western Ontario as well as in other remote areas in Canada

Because of our ongoing growth and commitment to continuous improvement we are looking for someone to join our team in the full-time permanent position of Accounting Assistant.

As Accounting Assistant you assist the Finance Team with various accounting tasks, enjoy multi-tasking and are adaptable to changing demands.

Responsibilities
  • Process all incoming payables ensuring all bills are paid on time
  • Issue any invoices to customers through SAGE INTACCT
  • Ensure that all receivables are collected promptly
  • Bank reconciliation and the companys credit card reconciliation
  • Bank deposits as required
  • Require good skills in the use of applicable computer software calculator photocopier facsimile machine and use of the internet
  • Ability to organize files and keep records
  • Other general accounting duties
  • Must be a permanent resident
  • Any other duties as assigned
  • Abilities to travel to the KNet office / Tbay office
Education & Qualifications
  • A minimum post-secondary certificate in bookkeeping or a College diploma or a University degree
  • Minimum two years experience in office work preferably in an accounting setting
  • Knowledge and experience with accounting software (SAGE 50)
  • Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector is an asset
  • Accounting-related education and experience an asset
