Position Overview

The Junior Production Technician must demonstrate the ability to quickly learn, comprehend, and apply medical isotope production processes, along with radiation safety and industrial safety procedures.

Location: On-site in Kanata, Ontario

Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Learn, understand, and implement medical isotope processes and procedures, including radiation and industrial safety protocols.
  • Routinely perform tasks related to the processing of highly regulated products within the Medical Isotopes production area.
  • Execute the full production cycle: material, equipment, and facility preparation; product processing; order dispensing; packaging; documentation; and emergency shutdown procedures.
  • Maintain general housekeeping standards and perform other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education (3-year diploma) in a relevant science discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Approximately 12 months of experience in radioisotope production.
  • Ability to work with manipulators, requiring strong grip strength and full range of motion in fingers, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
  • Capability to push/pull hand carts with forces up to 25 kg occasionally.
  • Ability to lift up to 5 kg frequently and 10 kg occasionally.
  • Good vision (corrected or uncorrected).
  • Able to stand for up to 3 hours and remain in a clean room for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a cleanroom or regulated production environment.
  • Familiarity with radiation safety and isotope handling procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.

The pay range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) is expected to be between $62,712 and $78,572 per year. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment and are subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
