Finning Canada is hiring a Journeyperson Welder for our Regina shop. The role includes maintaining and repairing Caterpillar equipment, performing routine maintenance, and completing technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Caterpillar Construction Equipment, Mining Equipment and Expanded Mining Equipment.
• Component rebuild and repair.
• Some Manufacturing.
• Perform routine maintenance work.
• Occasional work at heights and confined spaces.
• Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes).
• Interact with customers, sales support, and Finning team.
• Collaborate with Service Supervisor and Leadhand on tasks as required.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

• Maintain and repair Caterpillar Construction Equipment, Mining Equipment and Expanded Mining Equipment
• Component rebuild and repair
• Some Manufacturing
• Perform routine maintenance work
• Occasional work at heights and confined spaces
• Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting/pushing of up to 45 pounds without assistance
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Welder Ticket with Interprovincial Certification
• Valid driver’s license (drivers abstract as a condition of offer)
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Strong welding aptitude: vertical, flat, and overhead test for both SMAW and FCAW, machining experience is beneficial
• Repair welding would be considered an asset
• Strong line boring experience will be considered an asset

Important Details

• This position is based in our Regina shop on a 7x7 continuous shift
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
