Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Welder for our Swift Current shop to minimize downtime, diagnose defects, and fabricate parts on-site. You will operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment while maintaining a strong safety record.

The role requires a Journeyperson Welder Technician Certification with GMAW/SMAW credentials; CAT equipment experience is a plus. Finning offers a competitive hourly wage, a 4% bonus target, paid time off, a pension plan, an Employee Share Purchase

Position Overview:

Finning is growing fast—and so are the opportunities! We are currently hiring a Journeyperson Welder in our Swift Current shop. Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the position of J/Welder is responsible for a variety of welding related duties primarily within a shop environment.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
  • Minimize downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled.

Education & Experience:
  • Journeyperson Welder Technician Certification.
  • Certified in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
  • CWB tickets will be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment/engines would be considered an asset.
  • Any other relevant training as required would be considered an asset
