Job summary

Finning Canada in Regina is hiring a Journeyperson Welder at our Regina shop. You will maintain and repair Caterpillar construction and mining equipment, perform component rebuilds, and handle routine maintenance.

The role requires strong SMAW/FCAW welding skills and the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces. This permanent, on-site position offers an industry-leading wage with a shift differential, paid vacation and sick time, medical benefits, a pension plan, and career development

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Welder Ticket with Interprovincial Certification.
• Strong welding aptitude in SMAW and FCAW; vertical/overhead tests expected.
• Knowledge of fabrication and machining is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Caterpillar construction and mining equipment.
• Component rebuild and repair; some manufacturing.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Occasional work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Document service reports and warranty notes; interact with customers and sales support.

Job Description: Major Job Functions Maintain and repair Caterpillar Construction Equipment, Mining Equipment and Expanded Mining Equipment Component rebuild and repair Some Manufacturing Perform routine maintenance work Occasional work at heights and confined spaces Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting/pushing of up to 45 pounds without assistance Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes) Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Welder Ticket with Interprovincial Certification
• Valid driver’s license (drivers abstract as a condition of offer)
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Strong welding aptitude: vertical, flat, and overhead test for both SMAW and FCAW, machining experience is beneficial
• Repair welding would be considered an asset
• Strong line boring experience will be considered an asset

This position is based in our Regina shop on a 7x7 continuous shift
