Job summary

Finning is seeking a dedicated Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to support customers across Saskatchewan, focusing on ultra-class CAT machines. The role blends shop and on-site work, with emphasis on safety, client service and growth opportunities.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, leveraging CAT training and a strong background in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems. The position offers field premiums, robust benefits, and development potential.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (Agriculture, Truck & Transport and Automotive will also be considered)
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience is an asset
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing knowledge is an asset
• Gas engine and power generation experience is an asset
• Customer service experience is an asset

Responsibilities

• Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in shop or field environments (remote locations possible)
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, timely manner to maximize value of work performed
• Diagnose faults using computerized and testing equipment to determine repair extent
• Support with reference to on-site safety requirements

• Wage: $42.62 - $51.57
• Additional $5.00 Field premium
• Additional $3.50 Field premium

Job Description:

• Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in either a shop or field environment (possibility of remote locations)
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment

Specific Skills & Experience:

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (Agriculture, Truck & Transport and Automotive will also be considered)
• Valid class 5 drivers license with a successful driver's abstract
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
Engine and/or component rebuilding experience
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing knowledge
• Previous gas engine and power generation experience is an asset
• Previous customer experience would be considered an asset

Important Details:

• A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
• The shift will either be a 7x7 or 14x14 shift supporting all of Saskatchewan
