Job summary

Finning is seeking a dedicated Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to support customers across Saskatchewan. Work on ultra-class Caterpillar machines for industry giants, in shop or field environments.

Ideal candidates have Interprovincial Journeyperson Certification, strong electrical/hydraulic/emissions knowledge, and a customer-focused mindset. The role offers growth opportunities, a robust benefits package, and field premiums.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (Agriculture, Truck & Transport and Automotive will also be considered).
• Valid class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems.
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience.
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing knowledge.
• Gas engine and power generation experience is an asset.
• Previous customer experience would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in either a shop or field environment (possibility of remote locations).
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements.
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment.

• Wage: $42.62 - $51.57
• Additional $5.00 Field premium
• Additional $3.50 Field premium

Job Description:

Specific Skills & Experience:

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (Agriculture, Truck & Transport and Automotive will also be considered)
• Valid class 5 drivers license with a successful driver's abstract
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
Engine and/or component rebuilding experience
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing knowledge
• Previous gas engine and power generation experience is an asset
• Previous customer experience would be considered an asset

Important Details:

• A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
• The shift will either be a 7x7 or 14x14 shift supporting all of Saskatchewan
