Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration – Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Previous accounting work experience is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

  • The preparation, analysis, and review of operated equalizations and 13th month adjustments.
  • Analyze and process non-operated equalization and 13th month adjustment invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the planning and execution of non-operated joint venture audits, including data gathering, analysis, and documentation.
  • Perform data analysis, account reconciliations, and accounting research using Excel and accounting systems.
  • Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and joint venture agreements.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting, billing, and partner-related inquiries by collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Maintain organized accounting records, supporting documentation, and audit files.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and controls within accounting processes.
  • Support special projects, reporting requirements, and ad hoc analyses as required.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry while developing a strong foundation in operations accounting, joint venture accounting, financial analysis, and auditing.Working alongside experienced accounting professionals, you will contribute to key accounting processes related to equalizations, joint venture audits, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will gain valuable exposure to the flow of financial information between operators and non-operators, while developing analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
