Job summary

Tourmaline Oil Corp. in Calgary is seeking an Accounts Payable Summer Student for a four‑month term starting in May 2027. This term position offers exposure to our Calgary office and the broader oil and gas finance function.

The successful candidate will review invoices, upload into OpenInvoice and assist with ad hoc tasks, gaining hands-on experience in a Canadian energy company.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accounting or finance diploma or undergraduate program
  • Preference for students who will have recently completed first year by May 2027
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is considered an asset
  • Experience with OpenInvoice/OpenTicket is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Review invoices for accuracy and route through proper approvals

Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company. We are focused on long-term growth through an active exploration, development, production and acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Summer Student to join our Calgary office. This is a term position beginning in May 2027 and running for approximately four months.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for or assist with the following duties but not be limited to:

  • Review invoices for accuracy and route through the proper approval channels
  • Upload invoices into OpenInvoice
  • Ad hoc tasks as needed
Experience Requirements

The successful candidate needs to have experience in the following areas in order to be qualified for this role:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Excel) is considered an asset
  • Previous experience in OpenInvoice and OpenTicket is considered an asset
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accounting or finance diploma or undergraduate program
  • Preference will be given to students who will have recently completed their first year of post-secondary studies by May 2027

  • Strong work ethic and ability to take pride and ownership of work
  • Self-starter, takes initiative, and proven ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision
