Job summary

Canadian Natural Resources Limited in Calgary is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our Joint Venture Accounting team. You will analyze and record JIBs for operated and non-operated properties, resolve queries with stakeholders, and support monthly management reporting.

The role requires 5–12 years of oil and gas accounting experience, a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Accounting, and strong Excel skills. Relocation may be considered and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

  • Provide analysis and commentary for monthly management reports.
  • Maintain relationships with Joint Venture partners and other departments.

Key Accountabilities
  • Analyze and record non-operated joint interest billings (JIB), ensuring accuracy and completeness of revenue, royalties, capital, and operating costs within the terms of the governing agreements
  • Investigate and resolve queries and disputes on operated JIBs to collect receivables in a timely manner
  • Monitoring payment terms and payment patterns (KPIs)
  • Providing analysis and commentary for monthly management reports including communicating receivable collection action plans
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Joint Venture partners and other departments to achieve departmental and company goals and objectives

  • 5- 12 years of related oil and gas accounting experience
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong demonstrated Excel skills
