Job summary

Tourmaline Oil in Calgary is seeking a university or college student to join our controls and governance team as a student opportunity. The role supports control owners and external auditors and provides hands-on exposure to key financial controls in the energy sector.

Ideal candidates are finance or accounting majors in 2nd or 3rd year, proficient in Microsoft Office (Visio is a plus), with strong communication and ownership of work.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in university or college
• Preference for 2nd or 3rd year finance or accounting majors
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Visio is an asset

Responsibilities

• Attend walkthrough meetings with control owners and external auditors
• Update control documentation (including flowcharts) for all key processes
• Assist in the testing of key controls and processes

Experience Requirements

• Preference will be given to students who have completed their 2nd or 3rd year of undergraduate studies with a major in finance or accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Visio) is considered an asset
