IT Project Manager -Digital transformation Projects (Insurance Domain)

Location: Regina, SK (100% Remote)

Overview

This role is an exciting opportunity within the IT Project Delivery Services team which is part of the Information Technology and Business Intelligence (IT&BI) division. The Project Delivery Services team focuses on delivering IT projects within the IT project delivery framework that is based on best practices with a mindset of continuous improvement.

Description

• The Project Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of IT projects as assigned including one or more highly complex or enterprise wide IT and business project(s) to support the strategic, tactical and operational needs in partnership with senior leadership in the business units.
• Bridge business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver complex systems on time and within budget. [1]
• Support the establishment and continuous improvement of the standards, procedures and practices of the IT Project Management Office.
• This position will be responsible for providing leadership and team management for the assigned project team members; ongoing mentoring and support of project management capabilities across the IT division and vendor management activities.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of workers' comp IT projects.
• Configure and upgrade claims and injury-reporting platforms.
• Ensure strict adherence to provincial or state labor regulations.
• Track project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Mitigate project risks and manage stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 -7 years experience as an information systems professional in a medium to large systems environment with demonstrated experience in progressively responsible roles including:
• Three to five years of direct IT project management experience
• Experience in the use of project management software and tools
• Extensive and varied project management experience
• The following designations and certificates will be considered as an asset in this position: PMP, Prince 2, ITIL v3, Prosci CM
• Should be proficient in both agile and waterfall project management methodologies and project management toolsets.
• A University Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited University

Key Domain Expertise

• Experience in digital transformation projects
• Experience in commercial insurance more specifically, employers liability insurance, claims processing modernization, policy administration rollouts, and regulatory compliance updates.
• Deep understanding of employer liability and injury claims workflows.
• Integration with medical billing, legal adjudication, and rehabilitation tracking.
• Experience with core insurance suites (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek). [1]
• Regulatory data reporting and secure handling of claimant health records.
