Job summary

Humankind Recruitment in Halifax is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead strategic IT projects end-to-end, from inception to deployment, including operational handover. The role spans Data Center, Security, Infrastructure, and Corporate IT initiatives in a hybrid work setting.

You will manage multiple workstreams with diverse stakeholders across time zones, drive risk and issue management, and ensure on-time delivery within budget while maintaining quality and alignment with business

Qualifications

• 6+ years of IT project management experience delivering complex, multi‑stream initiatives across cloud, data, security and infrastructure.
• Strong leadership and communication skills across cross‑functional teams, customers and vendors.
• Ability to coordinate teams across multiple locations and time zones with high attention to detail.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches.

Responsibilities

• Manage medium to large, complex IT projects across multiple workstreams and vendors, ensuring continuity and minimal business disruption.
• Oversee full project lifecycle from initiation to closure, including requirements, planning and BAU handover.
• Define objectives, scope, timelines, budgets, milestones and deliverables with sponsors.
• Lead cross-functional teams, coordinate capacity, resolve conflicts and ensure commitments are met.
• Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies and decisions with appropriate escalation.
• Maintain stakeholder communications and provide regular progress updates and outcomes.

Senior IT Project Manager

Halifax (Hybrid-2 days in office)

Our client a dynamic Information Technology services company that partners with leading global organizations to deliver innovative, high-quality IT solutions is looking for a Senior IT Project Manager to join their growing team.

As Senior IT Project Manager, you will be tasked with a range of strategic IT projects, owning their entire life cycle from inception to deployment, including operational handover. These projects can range from Data Center Technology transformation, Security, Infrastructure, and Corporate IT initiatives.

You will be an enthusiastic and dynamic professional who is passionate about delivering a great product and should be excited by the challenges associated with a wide range of projects. The position requires someone who is able to work within a very diverse team and for a wide array of stakeholders in different time zones (both technical and non-technical), and has strong organi zational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing medium to large, complex IT projects across multiple workstreams, business teams and external vendors, ensuring service continuity and minimal business disruption.
• Managing the full project lifecycle from initiation through to closure, including requirements, planning, operational readiness and BAU handover.
• Defining and managing project objectives, scope, timelines, budgets, milestones and deliverables with sponsors and key stakeholders.
• Leading cross-functional project teams, managing capacity, resolving conflicts and competing priorities, and ensuring commitments are delivered.
• Proactively managing risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and decisions, with appropriate escalation and mitigation.
• Managing stakeholder relationships and communications, providing regular updates on progress, risks, issues, changes and project outcomes.
• Ensuring deliverables meet agreed acceptance criteria while driving continuous improvements to project delivery, efficiency and ways of working.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of IT project management experience, delivering complex, multi-stream infrastructure projects across cloud, network, data, security, platforms and data centers.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders in fast-paced environments, consistently meeting tight deadlines and maintaining quality.
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams, customers and third-party vendors.
• Highly organi zed and adaptable, with strong attention to detail and experience coordinating teams across multiple locations and time zones.
• Experienced in risk, issue, resource and dependency management, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges.
• Experienced in Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies, with knowledge of ITIL, IT infrastructure, networking, storage, virtualization, cloud and high-availability platforms.
• Strong proficiency with project management tools and communication of complex technical and non-technical concepts; PMP/PRINCE2/ITIL certification and willingness to travel are advantageous.
• Willingness to travel on an ad hoc basis - as required
