JOB SUMMARY

The IT Director will oversee the technological direction of a food manufacturing company, ensuring that IT strategies align with business goals. Interacting and supporting all departments (accounting, sales, logistics, production, shipping & receiving, quality assurance), this position involves implementing technology solutions to improve efficiency and ensuring the security of the company’s information systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning:

1. Participate in the development and implementation of IT strategies that support the company’s business objectives.
2. Identify opportunities for technology improvements and cost efficiencies.
3. Collaborate with senior management to align IT initiatives with business goals.

IT Infrastructure Management:

1. Oversee the maintenance, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, networks, hardware, and software.
2. Ensure the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of the IT infrastructure, which includes:
3. Virtual server environment, multi-location, multi-node and segmented Wi-Fi networks, segmented network topology, VPN connections for remote workers, IP Telephone.
4. Management of IT Operations:
5. Ensure seamless IT operations, which includes:
6. Management of Active Directory Domain Controller.
7. Management of Microsoft license assignment.
8. Sourcing, purchasing, setup of user workstations.
9. Management of data backups.
10. Oversee the implementation of new technologies to improve manufacturing processes, such as automation and data analytics.
11. Ensure the integration of ERP system and other software solutions critical to manufacturing operations.

Project Management:

1. Plan, execute and oversee IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope and within budget.
2. Coordinate with other departments to understand their technology needs and to integrate IT solutions across the company, ensuring that manufacturing automation projects conform to company standards.

Security and Compliance:

1. Ensure the security of IT systems, protecting against cyber threats and data breaches, which includes:
2. Maintain and update as necessary, cybersecurity tools and methods, plans and procedures, including employee training.
3. Maintain and update physical security system, including access control system.
4. Maintain and upgrade, as required, multi-facility video surveillance system.
5. Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
6. Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
7. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure cost-effective solutions.

Budget Management:

1. Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
2. Monitor and control IT expenditures to ensure cost-effective operations and identify cost-saving opportunities.

User Support and Maintenance:

1. Ensure the provision of reliable IT support to all employees and ensure efficient resolution of IT issues.
2. Help desk support for day-to-day troubleshooting and software maintenance.
3. Oversee company website, including e-commerce online store.

PREREQUISITES:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
3. Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and services.
4. Experience in the food manufacturing industry or a similar sector is highly desirable.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

1. Excellent knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and best practices.
2. Proficiency in managing IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and databases.
3. Proficiency in IT security and data protection principles/Experience in Cybersecurity Risk Management, including understanding of Cybersecurity Frameworks.
4. Familiarity with automation technologies and IoT in manufacturing.
5. Experience with ERP systems, which includes:
6. Intermediate skills using SQL and Crystal Reports, EDI processing, including design of processes, mapping, operations, integration of systems, design of interfaces, streamlining, optimization and digitizing of processes.
