Job summary

A logistics company located in Regina is looking for an Inventory Control Specialist. Position Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for keeping track of inventory changes throughout the warehouse including, but not limited to, cycle counting, researching discrepancies, updating data in the system, etc.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Perform routine cycle counting of inventory.
  • Develops, executes and oversees annual, monthly, and weekly cycle count planning for all inventory locations/warehouses (Dixie, Fidelity, & Robin).
  • Assist in the planning and execution of annual physical inventory.
  • Entry of transactional data into ERP system in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Ensuring warehouse inventory balances are maintained at the highest-level accuracy possible.
  • Performs floor to book and book to floor counting of inventory.
  • Compares and analyzes inventory balance discrepancies.
  • Determines root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies.
  • Prepares, maintains and distributes inventory metrics dashboard to organization.
  • Provides recommendations for process changes and technology changes to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers. Assist in counting of inventory. Weighing and counting items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
  • Any other duties assigned by TAS.
Education & Training

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; three years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Requirements
  • Previous inventory and cycle counting experience.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability count with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Preferred Requirements
  • Ability to drive forklift or a certified forklift operator.
  • Prior experience in an ERP system.
