Intermediate Engineer/Acoustical Consultant – Soft dB

Intermediate Engineer / Acoustical Consultant

Soft dB – Acoustics & Vibration Experts, the largest firm in Canada specializing in acoustics and vibration, is seeking an experienced Engineer in Acoustics for our Consulting division. With over 25 years in the industry, we are known worldwide for our cutting-edge acoustical and vibration engineering expertise and sound masking technology. MAIN TASKS

  • Participate in noise and vibration projects in industrial, transportation, environment, etc.
  • Perform field noise and vibration measurements.
  • Post-process and analyze measurements using Soft dB’s in-house software modules and other tools.
  • Create sound propagation models using specialized acoustical software (e.g. Cadna/SoundPlan for outdoor propagation and Rap-One II for indoor propagation).
  • Write technical reports and presentations.
  • Liaise directly with clients.
  • Participate in the training of junior engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor or higher in Engineering or related field
  • Professional status as a Professional Engineer, P.Eng. (an asset)
  • More than 5 years of experience in acoustical engineering.
  • Knowledge of acoustics, wave propagation and vibration.
  • Knowledge in instrumentation/acoustic measurements and vibrations.
  • Mastery of typical basic office software, Excel and computer tools in general.
  • Proactive, open-minded, reliable, rigorous, flexible, strong sense of responsibility and good communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of industrial design (an asset).
