Job summary

Bartle & Gibson is seeking a customer-focused associate to handle counter and phone inquiries, process orders, and source plumbing products. You will develop lasting customer relationships and maintain a clean, well-merchandised sales floor.

The role emphasizes product knowledge, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma is required, with plumbing/electrical knowledge as an asset.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma required.
• Post-secondary courses in plumbing, electrical or heating are assets.
• Knowledge of plumbing/electrical/heating products is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Offer exceptional customer service at counter and by phone.
• Respond to inquiries and process calls and orders.
• Process orders in the system and source materials when out of stock.
• Maintain positive customer relationships and handle returns.
• Keep counter and sales area clean and merchandised.
• Train and stay current on products and offerings.
• Support team with duties as required.

Job description

• Offering exceptional customer service at our counter and over the phone
• Responding to inquiries and processing incoming calls and orders
• Processing orders in the system
• Sourcing materials for customers when currently not in stock
• Consistent training and understanding of current products
• Developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
• Handling returns as required
• Keeping counter and sales area clean
• Merchandising and showcasing product
• Other duties as required

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Ability to develop long-term relationships and generate referrals from your customers
• Impeccable organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Time management & multitasking skills to serve several customers at the same time
• Self-motivated; able to function effectively both independently and as a member of a team
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced work environment

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Post-Secondary courses in Plumbing, Electrical or Heating are considered an asset
• Knowledge of the Plumbing, Electrical and Heating industry or a background in plumbing products would be considered an asset
