Job summary

Bartle & Gibson Co. is seeking a customer service oriented professional to work at our counter and over the phone in Western Canada. You will respond to inquiries, process orders, source materials, and maintain strong customer relationships.

The role focuses on delivering excellent service, answering product questions, and supporting upsell opportunities while keeping the store area organized and appealing. Previous plumbing/HVAC/electrical product familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years customer service experience.
• Knowledge of the Plumbing, HVAC or Electrical industry is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Offer exceptional customer service at the counter and over the phone.
• Respond to inquiries and process orders in the system.
• Source materials for customers when stock is low.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Handle returns as required.
• Keep counter and sales area clean and presentable.
• Merchandise and showcase products effectively.
• Identify new products and potential upsell opportunities with existing customers.
• Maintain knowledge base on current products and learn about new ones.
• Provide product information, pricing quotations, and follow-up on quotes.
• Ensure customers are satisfied with order taking, product, pricing, deliveries, and overall service.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet customer needs.

• Offering exceptional customer service at our counter and over the phone
• Responding to inquiries and processing incoming calls and orders in the system
• Sourcing materials for customers when currently not in stock
• Developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
• Handling returns as required
• Keeping counter and sales area clean
• Merchandising and showcasing product
• Contacting current customers and identifying new products and potential up-selling
• Maintaining knowledge base on current products and learning about new products
• Providing product information, pricing quotations, and follow-up on quotes
• Ensuring that customers are satisfied with order taking, product, pricing, deliveries, and overall service
• Working closely with others to ensure customer needs are met
• Other duties as required

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Ability to develop long-term relationships and generate referrals from your customers
• Impeccable organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Time management & multitasking skills to serve several customers at the same time
• Self-motivated; able to function effectively both independently and as a member of a team

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum of two years customer service experience
