Responsibilities
- (Internal Title: Business System Configuration / Development II)
- Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary bridge between the client’s business teams (Engineering, Construction, Procurement) and the technical data team. Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics and manage expectations in a high‑pressure environment.
- Requirements Translation: Lead requirements workshops and working sessions to uncover business needs, clarify ambiguous requirements, and define KPIs aligned to how capital programs are actually managed.
- Translate business questions into clear technical specifications, data models, and reporting logic.
- Business Intelligence & Visualization: Design and develop interactive high‑impact executive dashboards in Power BI. Deliver the last mile of data, ensuring insights are accurate, intuitive, and actionable. Apply domain knowledge and program management/project controls expertise to align reporting products with best practices.
- Data Logic & Engineering: Work within the client’s Snowflake & Power BI environment to design robust data models. Write complex SQL transformations to clean, normalize and prepare EPC data (Oracle Primavera P6 and other PMIS tools) for reporting.
- Quality Assurance: Own the validity of the data. Trace numbers from the dashboard back to the source to ensure trust and alignment with business rules.
- Process Oversight: Collaborate with the technical team to monitor CI/CD pipelines (GitHub/DevOps) and troubleshoot data ingestion issues that impact reporting availability.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid: Primarily onsite with our client and partners to enable delivery and cultivate client relationships, with some travel to various client sites at key project milestones.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Project Controls, Data Analytics, or Analytics Engineering.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of managing hard client relationships, navigating pushback, and driving consensus across technical and non‑technical teams.
- Power BI Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX data modeling and UI/UX design principles for executive reporting.
- Domain Knowledge: Understanding of capital project controls, scheduling, or construction management.
- Snowflake & SQL: Strong SQL skills with the ability to query, transform, and model data within Snowflake to prepare data for optimal BI performance.
- Data Translation: Experience taking raw data from disparate systems (CSV, Excel, JSON) and turning it into a cohesive business story (star‑schema dimensional modeling).
- Agile Collaboration: Comfort working with JIRA, Git, and agile methodologies.
- Holding a recognized Project Management certification (CAPM, PMP, etc.).
Bonus Points If You Have
- Technical Depth: Familiarity with Python, dbt, or Azure Data Factory for advanced ETL scenarios.
- Certifications: SnowPro Core, Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL‑300), PMP/CSM.
- Ability to arrange priorities and escalates competing risks to meet deadlines.
- Keen eye for detail and adept problem‑solving abilities.
- Demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal).
- Effective skills in Microsoft Office.
- Equipped to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation
