Job summary

Fairmont Royal York in Toronto is seeking an Assistant In-Room Dining Manager to support the In-Room Dining Manager and ensure exceptional service standards in a high-volume luxury setting.

You will supervise the In-Room Dining team, manage scheduling, payroll support, and reporting, while maintaining guest satisfaction, safety and cost controls. Previous F&B leadership in a union environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• MS Word, Excel and E-mail literacy required.
• Experience in a food and beverage setting, especially in a supervisory/management role in a union environment.
• Ability to lead by example with hands-on operational support.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operation of In-Room Dining, including service execution, scheduling, opening and closing duties, payroll support, reporting, and other administrative responsibilities.
• Supervise and support the In-Room Dining team to ensure prompt, professional, and courteous food and beverage service for all room service orders and suite set-ups.
• Maintain high standards of guest satisfaction, colleague engagement, cleanliness, sanitation, and health & safety compliance.
• Assist in monitoring departmental productivity, labor costs, revenues, and operational expenses to support financial objectives.
• Support the implementation and adherence of departmental standards, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Assist with colleague training, coaching, performance development, and fostering positive working relationships within the department.
