Job summary

Fairmont Royal York in Toronto is seeking a Restaurant Manager to supervise day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring quality, service, and cost control. You will lead staffing, training, and coaching while maintaining health standards and department budgets.

The role emphasizes strong communication, a deep knowledge of food and beverage trends, and a commitment to guest satisfaction in a luxury hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of food and beverage products and trends.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be fluent in English; second language is a plus.
• Experience in hospitality management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises day-to-day function of all restaurant employees, facilities, sales and costs.
• Monitors production quality, guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, operating costs, sanitation and hygiene.
• Conducts candidate interviews, hires, trains and coaches staff.
• Attends weekly food and beverage department meetings and participates in budget preparation.
• Ensures health and safety procedures and hotel grooming standards are met.
• Manages schedules, logbooks, opening/closing duties and reports to maximize outlet profits.
