Job summary

Fairmont Royal York in Toronto is seeking an Assistant General Manager for Clockwork & Library Bar to lead day-to-day front-of-house operations, drive exceptional guest service, and support strategic growth. You will oversee training, staff engagement, and financial performance while aligning with luxury hospitality standards.

You will manage seating, menu input decisions, and online presence with the Marketing team, ensuring a top-tier guest experience across both venues.

Qualifications

• Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management an asset.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hospitality management.
• Ability to lead by example and drive a high-performance team.
• Strong food and beverage product knowledge and trends.
• Proficient computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in English; second language an asset.
• Smart Serve Certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day front-of-house operations under the General Manager.
• Lead and support front-of-house teams to deliver exceptional guest service.
• Ensure regular, effective training and coaching of staff.
• Drive revenue through seating optimization and meal period management.
• Implement upselling programs to increase average checks.
• Maintain overall restaurant operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Collaborate with marketing to keep the restaurant active online and in the community.
• Participate in long-term strategic planning for both venues.
