CIMA+’s Energy & Resources team is a key player in the energy transition. Join us as a Transmission Lines Engineer to apply your design skills on large Canadian infrastructure projects. You’ll design high voltage lines, develop design basis documents, and provide deliverables as the Professional of Record.

The role is hybrid (2 days a week in the office) and can be based anywhere in Canada. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and mentor junior engineers while advancing innovative

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years in transmission projects.
• Registered with a Professional Engineering association in ON or another Canadian province.
• Proficient in design/analysis software and CAD systems; proficient with MS Office; strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design HV overhead lines and facilities for 60kV–500kV in an electric utility environment.
• Design transmission line wood/steel poles and latticed structures in CAD tools.
• Design transmission line foundations.
• Prepare design basis documents.
• Prepare hardware assemblies drawings.
• Prepare project documentation (reports, specs, proposals, estimates, test plans) per CIMA+ practices.
• Develop design work packages with scope, duration, and cost estimates.
• Provide signed and sealed engineering deliverables as Professional of Record.
• Offer technical assistance, construction support, and field reviews.
• Lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
