Job summary

CIMA+ invites a Transmission Lines Engineer to join our Energy & Resources team in Canada. You will design HV overhead lines (60–500 kV), guide pole structures, and deliver project documentation. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance major Canadian infrastructure initiatives.

You will use your proficient design skills, CAD experience, and professional engineering credentials to ensure safe, compliant, and innovative solutions, while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience and a history of working in Transmission projects.
• Registered member of a Professional Engineering association in ON or another province of Canada.
• Proficient in design/analysis software and CAD systems, along with familiarity of drawing standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication abilities in English – written and verbal.
• Experience in design tasks including scope, schedule and cost control.
• Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design high voltage overhead line and associated facilities for voltages from 60kV to 500kV in an electric utility environment.
• Design transmission line wood and steel poles structures as well as latticed structure in PLS-Pole and PLS-Tower.
• Design transmission line structure foundations.
• Prepare hardware assemblies drawings.
• Prepare project documentation like reports, specifications, proposals, estimates, and test plans per CIMA+’s practices.
• Develop design work packages with scope, duration, and effort estimates, and manage design tasks including scope, schedule, and cost for existing and new facilities.
• Provide signed and sealed engineering deliverables as the Professional of Record in accordance with the requirements of the applicable provincial engineering regulator and CIMA+’s practices.
• Offer technical assistance, construction support, and field reviews as required.
• Lead projects and support junior engineer.
